Astronomy Picture of the Day

Since April of 2013, I have had the amazing opportunity to be the mirror operator for APOD on Instagram! Coming up on a decade since the account’s creation, every day, it gives hundreds of thousands of users their daily dose of astronomy. 

After more than 25 years of operation, APOD has millions of daily views, is translated into more than 20 different languages, and is used on a variery of platforms to encourage interest and learning of astronomy. 

In August of 2022, the APOD team was awarded the Outreach Award from the International Astronomical Union.
